Soil Emergence Trap - Black (96x26 mesh, 60x60x60 cm, pack of 4)

         US$322.20

This lightweight soil emergence trap is a small version of our amphibious emergence trap.  It has flaps around the base that can be covered with soil to keep the insects inside.  Loops at four corners are for the tent pegs (not included) needed in wind.

To boost insect catch, this soil emergence trap is mostly black except the head entrance.  A large dome-shaped zipper is in one panel for easy access to interior.

Assembly
  1. Remove collecting bottle from zipped pocket on top of soil emergence trap.
  2. Push one plastic foot onto one end of each support poles.
  3. Push one pole, foot-end first, into each of four sleeves of soil emergence trap.  Foot prevents poles from puncturing sleeves.
  4. Push a splint over top of each support pole used in Step 3.
  5. Thread remaining two poles through tabs on top of soil emergence trap to form an X.
  6. Push ends of these two poles into top half of each splint used in Step 4.
Make sure fiberglass ends are completely inserted into splints.
  7. Put collecting bottle back into zipped pocket on top of soil emergence trap.
  8. Lash ribbons around neck and body of collecting bottle.
  9. Zip pocket to lock collecting bottle in place.
CAUTION   Fiberglass poles may break when: 1) top two poles are not completely inserted into four splints and 2) trap is lifted when collecting bottle is heavy.  We suggest limiting killing agents to <25% of collecting bottle volume.
